The surreal world

Oil on canvas, 50x60 cm Nature is all around us, and everybody has an idea about what it is, how it functions. But studying biology, I have realized that nature is far more complex, far more diverse, and far more surprising than you can ever imagine. The moment you think you have figured it out, something new comes up to amaze you. This painting reflects the idea that life is not always what you think it is. It always leaves you in awe.

Oil on canvas, 40x50 cm Thanks to the powers of natural selection, life has the ability to adapt to almost all environments. It is truly the most powerful and wondrous force in nature.

Acrylic on canvas, 50x60 cm

Oil on canvas, 40x50 cm In my paleoecological research I always felt amazed by the effects of time. Analyzing fossil plant materials I realized I was looking at a snapshot through time. Material that was once, thousands of years ago, part of a living organism is now part of the Earth. This painting reflects those feelings and thoughts. Life develops, dies and returns to the ground. An endless cycle.
